The Awakening: Hidden Histories of New Orleans

Overview
In 1718 a teenager plunged a flag into the ground and founded La Nouvelle Orleans. Ever since then New Orleans has been at the forefront of almost everything, good and bad.

Whether it be legalized prostitution, the creation of Jazz music, Mardi Gras parades, original cuisine, America’s first cocktail, or the multitude of floods and hurricanes, we have always been in the headlines.

Those stories just scratch the surface. The full history of New Orleans could fill volumes and still never be told in full.
