What To Expect

The Official Art Deco Gift Shop

Founded in 1976, The Miami Design Preservation League has proudly offered guided walking tours of The Art Deco District for over 40 years. All Proceeds go towards supporting preservation. Visitors are introduced to the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of Miami Beach. Tour ticket includes free admission to the Art Deco Museum and Gift Shop. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each tour, so early bookings are encouraged . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure for check-in.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Simply incredible insight to the architectural history of this unique area. Being a Miami resident for 5 years I erroneously thought I knew what Art Deco was and meant … I know nothing. Howard - our guide - was incredibly informative - welcomed and encouraged questions about the buildings as well as Miami Beach life and provided a well structured - easily understandable narrative of the history of the area- the different periods of art deco buildings and their features - as well as the function of the preservation area and the way that new buildings now have to be “compatible” with the original buildings without being able to fully copy that style. The original is preserved but not ripped off. Absolutely a conservation success story although we mourn the buildings that have been lost to time. I thoroughly recommend this tour. The museum is amazing - the staff are incredibly welcoming

Wanted a tour of the Art Deco district that explained history and architecture. This was perfect. The 2 hours flew by and the guide answered wide-ranging questions well... and found shade when we stopped to admire buildings. Recommend this tour! We also visited the current exhibit (of one Art Deco architect) at the museum afterwards for free.
