The Old Taylor Tour

Overview
This tour is the perfect way to travel the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. You will start with a wonderful BBQ lunch at our riverside dock in downtown Frankfort, KY.

Then, you will participate in a river tour that gives you a birds eye view of the water that birthed bourbon. Along your river tour, expert guides will spin tales of the story of bourbon, the men and women who created it and the "then and now" of where bourbon takes us.

After leaving the river, you will travel to the distillery, where you will go on the "Old Taylor Tour". Take a walk through bourbon history alongside E.H. Taylor Jr., the man who revolutionized the industry. Included in this tour will be a progressive bourbon tasting of EH Taylor products.

Tour route includes stairs and there is a lot of walking involved. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended.

Seeing the dam and hearing how some idiots tried to run it! The Old Taylor tour at the Distillery was very informative.

I'm a bit remiss. My son and I took this tour in April and I'm writing this at the end of May! Our tour was the first day the Riverboats were back in operation for the season. We had a very leisurely cruise. We were fortunate that there was only one other couple on the boat with us so it was a more intimate cruise and we all had a great time. Our Captains were very knowledgeable of the river and it's history. I would recommend this tour. Since this tour is normally a smaller group than most, when we arrived at Buffalo Trace we were able to see parts of the facility that many do not get to see. All and all and very enjoyable trip and I would highly recommend it. Be sure to book in advance because this is a high demand trip.

Captains Nathan and Allison were great. Friendly, attention to detail, knowledgeable and fun. Great way to get some history and tour Buffalo Trace. The boat was nice and comfortable. Food options were local and yummy.
