I will start by saying the experience of zip lining itself was thrilling and views were spectacular. We chose this one over the other the larger competitors for the authenticity and overall experience of our fellow trip advisor reviewers. I must admit that I was slightly disappointed, our transfer was late, this is after 3 calls to the lodge. We arrived, barely greeted and staff appeared annoyed! They did have to deal with a large group of students which we get and took into consideration. We remained patient and polite throughout the process. As we broke into our groups, the service was no better, again staff appeared annoyed and tired and rushed us through the zips and canopies. Then, due to clouds rolling in they cut out the Tarzan and 2 other zip lines (for the record it did not rain this day at all) but I can appreciate the precaution for safety. I have to wonder if on-time, we may have gotten all lines in. All in all we are glad we did it, disappointed that we didn’t get the full experience and lack of customer service.

The guides were encouraging and very charismatic. They ensured we laughed the whole time and encouraged us when we needed it. We havd a really good time ! We did miss out on three zip lines due to a fast approaching hinder cloud (safety is always the most important). There was one downfall however, we were supposed to be picked up at our hotel. We were not. We also did not receive any call. We ended up getting our own transport to the place.

I cannot recommend The Original Canopy Tour highly enough. We chose The Original Canopy tour over the competitors for a number of reasons, namely 1) we were staying at The Cloud Forest Lodge, so it’s less than 30 seconds walk from our room, and 2) it just seemed a bit less ‘school trip’ and much less commercial than the other big players. We booked on to a 10:30am tour in early June. Our guides Tuca, David and Pedro were clearly a highly professional yet fun and friendly team with a huge focus on safety. In our group there were 7 of us in total. I love heights so wasn’t nervous at all, but my boyfriend is petrified, but they recognised this and were patient and extra reassuring for him. We started with the Tarzan swing as a ‘warm up’, and it really is so much fun! It’s a short 10 min trek from the office. After that it’s all zip lining, with a cool rappel and tree climb in the middle. Throughout the cables David had our phones and cameras and took so many ‘action’ videos of us zip lining. When he saw monkeys in the trees he even took the phones with him on a cable and stopped half way along to take close-up pictures of the monkeys in the trees only a few metres away. He went above and beyond. We were unlucky with the weather, a huge storm started right before the last two (the 800m and 500m cables - the longest two they have!) so sadly we had an early end to the tour and we had to miss them. It was far too dangerous with lightening striking close by. However the early finish was so slick - one quick call and within 2 minutes someone from the office was close by, helping us rappel down the tree, and accompanying us back to the nearby van to take us all back to base. The cherry on top though..... the next morning we went back to finish the last two cables off!! (complementary). There was no fuss at all, we simply joined a group at the end of their tour and tagged on to the last two cables. The guys make a great team, they are 100% fun, friendly and safe. Thank you very much!
