The man gave so much history there was hardly any ghost stories and it was very boring. A couple was late and he made us stand and wait 15 minutes waiting for them. When he finally started the tour it was very long and boring history tours that I’d expect in the day time on a history tour. Now I know that history is expected but it was so lengthy it would lose my attention. We would get a 25 minute history lesson about a random thing that happened for the guide to say, “ and in this house people would hear things and there’s nothing there”. The stories had no edge or spooky appeal. I wasn’t expecting anything super overwhelming, but it was not worth what we paid. The guide would spend 15 minutes talking about George Washington to say, “and I’m not telling you about George Washington tonight. This guy that owned this house died and sometimes people would hear creaking upstairs many years later without anyone else in the home.” We ended up leaving 1.5 hours into it. Our guide was monotone and uninteresting. The other guides people were laughing and having a good time, there was shouting and excitement, but our guide just wanted to give a walking history tour. After all the other ghost tours I’ve been on, this was the most disappointing. We won’t be doing that again and it was a waste of money.

We loved our tour guide, Hannah! All of the stories she told us were awesome and we never lost interest, including our 9 year old son. I would definitely recommend this tour. Next time we visit we would like to do the extended tour, since we enjoyed it so much!

Our guide was Randy and he did an awesome job telling us stories from Williamsburg’s past. We walked at a good pace with plenty of stops to hear the stories he had to tell us.
