Grand Central Terminal
On this virtual talk and tour, we’ll explore the history of transportation in New York from the early horse and carriage to the way New Yorkers commute locally and to the suburbs. At the end, you’ll know if you wish to include it on your NYC itinerary, and how much time to spend there on your self-guided experience. The story of Grand Central Terminal is a remarkable architectural wonder and a must see for over 21 million visitors each year. Hear how the building was almost demolished, who saved it and how, and what renovations have taken place over the past 100 years. Next, we’ll take our virtual tour together as we visit each area so you can see the secrets of Grand Central and know where they are when you visit the building on your own. You’ll see the famous clock, incredible ceiling, and hear the stories behind each of them. You’ll know why the main concourse was used as a WW II spy training site, and see the locations made famous in movies shown around the world and more.

I have seen numerous documentaries about Grand Central Terminal. For the most part each of them tell the same story fit within a one-hour television slot. Due to the detailed work put into this virtual tour by Kitt, I learned things that I never knew about Grand Central. By far this is probably the most comprehensive collection of details put together about the GCT & its surroundings. I can’t wait to re-visit the terminal with my new found knowledge & fresh set of eyes. I highly recommend this tour to anyone thinking of visiting GC or interested in learning more about the great structure.

Like so many people I’ve probably traveled through Grand Central Terminal a 1000 times and never really gave a thought to the magnificent history, grand architecture and construction of Grand Central Terminal. Kitt Garrett’s tour is beyond interesting, educational and a fun experience. Don’t miss it. I am looking forward to taking the rest of the tours of NYC by Kitt.

Thank you for watching my tour of Grand Central Terminal! Its so much fun for me to hear from people who have walked through the building in the past, and passed things they never thought much about before this presentation. It's a whole new way to explore a favorite NYC icon and learn its secrets, myths and truths.

Loved the fact I could get behind the scene information about the building and it's history. Also all of the history about the surrounding neighborhood was facinating.
