The High Line
On this virtual talk and tour, we’ll explore this wonderful linear park elevated 30 feet in the sky attracting over 8 million visitors each year. From the 1800’s, learn the history of how goods arrived in Manhattan, providing a life-line to residents. We’ll explore the history of the neighborhoods, learn why the rail line was elevated, then abandoned, and who rescued it. You’ll see the transformation from the Meatpacking District, through the Chelsea neighborhood to the creation of the largest private construction project in the history of the United States called Hudson Yards. As we take our virtual tour block by block, you’ll know the secrets of the High Line, see the incredible new architecture and be able identify the architects who created an amazing three-dimensional gallery of artwork. At the end, you’ll know if you wish to include it on your NYC itinerary, and how much time to spend there. Download the pdf to your device to explore the site on your self-guided tour.

Hi Liz, Again, I apologize for the inconvenience of the link not working. As written to you previously, since you are the only one who had this issue, it might have been your connection, since the link does work. I sent a private message to you with the working link and refunded the tour price so you can watch it whenever you have time. The tour is equally interesting before you walk the High Line and after as a reminder of your stroll. I would love to hear from you with an updated Trip Advisor review about my quick response to help you, and that you received a working link and what you thought of the video! Warm regards, Kitt Garrett

This is a wonderful insight into the continuing development of the HighLine and the area surrounding it. The virtual experience and the detailed map accompanying the tour makes it easy to identify the buildings and understand the forever changing NY skyline.

Oh so well done! I am stunned and delighted by the range, depth, and quality of the material covered - from the Dutch, to today, and beyond. Along with the very interesting history of the High Line itself, Kitt weaves together geography, trade, technology, architecture, important personalties, and lots of fun trivia. Helpful maps and photos support every aspect. Thank goodness it can be downloaded to enjoy again, which I certainly will do. What a value.
