The Tour of The Freedom Trail by the Histrionic Academy is the best way to see Boston. You will meet your costumed guide in the Boston Common and hear about Boston's inspiring history. Following the freedom trail past several historic sites guests will be amazed by the stories of America's Founding Fathers, the American Revolution and New England's Colonial History. This walking tour Follows the Freedom Trail for approximately 1.2 miles from the Boston Common to Faneuil Hall.

This tour was led by Miss Elizabeth Oliver, a thoroughly knowledgeable and friendly tour leader. The tour covered many attractions and provided great information about the history of Boston and of the United States. We will take this tour again.

Start off at the Boston visitors centre, and follow the red brick road throughout historic sites in Boston! There's options to have a guided tour with staff in historical dress, and the groups that I eavesdropped on seemed to be having a lot of fun with their guides!! But if you're sneaky like me, you can sidle up to another group and have a quick listen in :) Walking the route will take about 3 hours, and longer if you stop off at the various museums on the way. A fantastic method to find your way through this beautiful city!!

The Freedom Trail is a "no brainer" when you're visiting the Boston area. This was actually my second time walking it, but the first time for our kids. It's a long (I believe 5 miles, round trip) walk, but packed full of amazing historical sites and interesting facts and people. There are plenty of places to stop along the way to grab a drink or a bite to eat. The NORTH End has some amazing Italian restaurants and yummy bakeries! Our 11 year old son complained when we got to Bunker Hill (his legs were tired), but he easily made it back to Boston Commons (where we started). Well worth it to check out The Freedom Trail ...really a MUST!
