We took both the 1 1/2 hour walking tour leaving the Commons and the a North End tour with our tour guide, Rachel Revere. At the end of the day, according to Fitbit, we had walked over 6 miles and gained a new perspective of our colonialist and patriot ancestors. It was wonderful to hear Paul Revere's second wife talk about the events that led up to the first shots fired at Lexington/Concord and literally retrace their steps. It's a small investment of money and a great investment of time!

I highly recommend the freedom trail tour. It was one of the best tours that I have ever taken. It starts in the Boston common area and it's a highly informative tour and a great way to see Boston on foot.

We were new to Boston and only had a short time in the city. My partner and I thought the freedom trail would be a good way to get into the city's heart and history. And, oh boy it was! We met our guide on Boston Common after handing over $14 each to the Freedom Trail Foundation. Our guide in period costume was extremely knowledgeable, and provided a very entertaining, light touch commentary as we walked at a very manageable pace through the heart of the city, stopping at the major sites of interest along the way. The tour finished at Faneuil Hall, and took just over 90 minutes. Thoroughly recommended.
