Family spring break vacation with a morning spent at Treeumph climbing, gliding, balancing and swinging up in the trees. We did all 5 courses. Our teens were very excited for the challenge. Doing all 5 courses was fun, challenging and definitely a workout. We were in the first group of the day (8:30am) on a overcast and cooler day (70's) and we were still very hot and wet by the time we finished all 5 courses. If you are not accustom to Florida heat and humidity, I would definitely recommend going early.. Course 5 is very challenging and not for everyone. Was disappointed Treeumph only had one staff person overseeing all of obstacles in course 5 due to the level of difficulty. Many people needing help and encouragement in navigating course 5. A few asking to be repelled down because they were exhausted and couldn't finish. My 14 year old son got very thirsty about 3/4 the way through course 5 and called out to the staff member that he needed water. Because the one staff person that was overseeing that course was lower down another participant , he told my son he would need to wait until he was done helping other participant. As the minutes ticked by I could see my son was getting more dehydrated and becoming sick. Unfortunately, no one else could help either due to our location on the course. A couple others started calling out for water for him. as the his condition was getting serious. It took the staff member about 10 mins to get water to my son, by then my son was very dehydrated, dizzy, weak and white as a ghost. Because it took too long for him to get water, he became dangerously dehydrated and had to be lowered to the ground and taken to the medic shelter. He recovered quickly, however he was not allowed to go back up to finish the course. Which was a big disappointment for him. Very thankful that my son recovered quickly, however this probably wouldn't have been an issue if they would have had a second staff member on course 5 that could have brought him water when he needed it. Hope Treeumph will add staff where it is needed for the safety and enjoyment of future participants. .
