Triple Crater Hawaii Volcano Hiking Adventure

Overview
Hike with an experienced volcano guide to not one, but THREE of the major craters of Mount Kilauea in Hawaii Volcanoes National park in one day!  Truly an awesome and unique experience hiking these awesome attractions!
1) Mauna Ulu, an impressive still-steaming crater where you can peer down into the depths of the volcano!
2) Across Kilauea Iki Crater floor, a spectacular hike across the still steaming vents since it's last eruption! Includes jungle hiking and an impressive but challenging climb out of the crater! Don't worry, you can do it!
3) Currently there is lava activity within the Halema'uma'u crater, but this is a regularly changing event. Assuming there is any activity, or even volcanic "glow" we will definitely include this in our tour as a final stop.

Including both deli-style lunch and local-style dinner, as well as transport in style in a Benz high-ceiling van, this moderately strenuous hike will leave a lasting impression of Hawaii's awesome volcanoes.

I’ve traveled to many places and taken many tours. This is by far one of the best I have been on. We saw not only the craters and volcanos but also many parts of the island. Mike, our tour guide, was amazing. He is extremely knowledgeable and well rounded. He knows so much about the island and just about everything we saw. He is extremely accommodating. We had a 10 and 8 yo as well as my parents and heard us feel assured that what we felt ok doing wasn’t a problem. If you are on the big island, don’t pass this tour! Make space in your schedule to go on it!

Mike took us on a once-in-a-lifetime hiking experience to the mouth of Mauna Ulu which had last erupted in 1974 and is still steaming. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the mountains of Hawaii, the flora and fauna, and kept us all engaged with his stories and fun facts. He was flexible with the itinerary and allowed for stops along the way to let us try fresh sugar cane and strawberry guavas. He kept our three kids interested with beautiful stories from Hawaiian folklore. We visited a few craters, a lava tube and did a short hike to Akaka falls. We loved talking with Mike, whom we called the Hawaiian Forrest Gump given all this interesting life experiences across the earth.
