Trolley Tour in Historic Jim Thorpe

Overview

Our historic trolley tour goes from the visitor center at 2 Susquehanna St. through the Jim Thorpe Memorial, the Lehigh Gorge State Park, up Broadway past all the shops, restaurants, and museums to the Mauch Chunk Lake and drop off back at the visitor center. This 70 minute tour is a great way to see most of the town of Jim Thorpe, some of our beautiful natural scenery, great things to do while in town, and our historic buildings along Broadway! Our tour is a live narration with some of the interesting history of the town as well as our name sake.

We really enjoyed the trolley tour with PJ! She shared a lot of history, interesting facts and humor. Well worth the time, money and trip to see Jim Thorpe this way. We also did the train but weren’t as entertained. We should have chosen the open car to really see anything as our seats were between windows so not great viewing at all.

It was a beautiful day for seeing the Fall foliage colors and the trolley tour made it perfect. Shout out to our guide Glenn and his wife who handles the tickets. He was very knowledgeable with a great zest for life which included his sense of humor. I highly recommend!!

Oct 19th Trip. Was fantastic! Great hour long trip and had wonderful weather. Driver was joyful and informative. Leaned all about the area and Jim Thorpe himself. I would highly recommend! Awesome value (probably too cheap. lol). Went on the scenic train trip right afterwards. My wife and I both said that after the trolly ride, the train was anti-climatic and really not worth it. We has much better foliage views from the Trolly! lol. We are both in our late 50s. Hope this helps! I don't often write reviews.
