Truly Authentic Lancaster Experience!

Overview
If you are looking for a true, overall "Lacaster experience" this is the tour for you. We begin with a walking tour of Lancaster City, where our knowledgable guides provide an overview of the rich and multifaceted history of our beautiful city. Next, we depart in our tour van to visit and experience the real and remote areas of Lancaster County that only locals know. Our guides are deeply connected to many Amish people here in the county and will provide a wealth of knowledge and information along the way. We'll make two stops at Amish properties, giving you an insight into their world, and some ice cream to top it off. We participated in the Truly Authentic Lancaster Experience with Phil the tour operator. Phil brings a personal touch to the Amish tour, lots of insight as he's authentic, sincere, and passionate about the Amish and how his lineage aligns with them. Phil is also very knowledge of Lancaster, it's characters, it's history and it's relevance as an early American settlement. Plus he has plenty of suggestions on lodging and dinning.

I don't review tours unless I feel 100% comfortable using the words "unique" and "exceptional". Those two words perfectly describe this tour AND its amazing guide Phil. All I can say is that if you want to experience and understand Amish Country and its people in the 'real-deal/boots on the ground' way and don't take this tour? It would kinda be like visiting Liberty Island and not seeing the Statue of Liberty. Yeah..it's that special and well worth the bit extra it costs over competing tours. Phil is a unique creature...almost unicorn-like...in that community. He was raised..as a kid..in both Amish AND Mennonite family environments, but his adult life (both in business and social circles) has extended well outside of those communities. Yet he clearly remains a trusted and valued presence within his old tribal circles. As a result, my wife and I got to learn about and experience life in and around Lancaster from both the Amish and non-Amish points of perspective. I won't divulge spoilers, but I can tell you that the Amish people we met on the tour as a result of Phil's long-term relationships were truly memorable & extraordinary people. Phil was relaxed, articulate, fun, candid, genuine, and caring. My wife and I have visited Lancaster several times over the 32 years we've been together. But we've never fully absorbed both the town and the Amish community before taking LoKal's 'Truly Authentic Amish Experience' this past week. I would give this SIX stars if I could!

Phil was a great tour guide with a huge knowledge about the Amish and the area. We have seen so many different places. Also we walked through Lancaster and Phil showed us really interested spots. We also had a fantastic ice cream from an Amish Farm. The tour was absolutely the money worth. Would do this tour every time again.
