Had a very fun, enjoyable tour led by Scott, who was super knowledgeable, articulate, and engaging. He gave a fascinating history of the U Street area, where we learned about beautiful murals and buildings. The food was so delicious and plentiful - five wonderful stops, with Ben's Chili Bowl half smokes, Ethiopian injera, and Cuban empanada as my personal favorites. A really terrific and worthwhile food tour!

Had a great tour with Scott today. Really enjoyed learning about the U Street neighborhood-lots of interesting history and murals and great food. Loved Bens Chili Bowl and my fav was the Ethiopian restaurant. Also liked Colada for a cafecito and empanada and the Thai Iced Tea ice cream at Jubilee. Although a cold beer at Matchbox was good, the venue didn't seem to fit with the others in the tour and we preferred the smaller individual restaurants that we wouldn't have otherwise found on our own. Overall a fun day and a good tour with a great tour guide.

Hi Ellie! Thanks for taking the time to review us' I'm glad that you enjoyed your tour! Yes, Matchbox is a bit bigger than some of the other restaurants we visit, but the building in which it resides has a rich and storied history that we believe contributes to the unique history of the neighborhood. :)

Scott guided my sister and I through a three-hour montage of delicious and exotic foods, neighborhood and national history, art and architecture. My sister, who was in visiting, said it was the best activity we did the whole weekend. I will definitely revisit with out-of-town friends.
