What To Expect

U Street

Our tour will take place predominantly along the U St corridor, which is rich with history. We'll stop in several places between restaurants to share the history and culture of this diverse neighborhood.

Lincoln Theatre

We'll stop outside of Lincoln Theater and speak briefly about the history of the building and events that have happened there.

African American Civil War Memorial Museum

We'll point out the African American Civil War Memorial, outside of the Civil War Museum. We encourage everyone to return and explore the memorial and the museum on your own time.

Tiffany was a delightful guide with so much knowledge of food and of the history of the U Street neighborhood. This isn’t the typical history tour that you would expect in DC (Colonial times, etc) but we really enjoyed learning about the history specific to this area and trying new cuisines. Highly recommend!

We had a great time on our food tour! Scott was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and great to be around. We had a great time and the food was delicious. For those considering this tour: You go to 5 different food stops. Your guide will tell you about the history of the restaurant, its owners, and how it affected the neighborhood around it. You'll walk between each restaurant while learning about the buildings and history of the neighborhoods you pass. We had a great time and would be happy to do something like this again!
