This tour was the highlight of our trip. Captain Nick was amazing. He was knowledgeable and personable. While we didn’t see any whales, Captain Nick did track down a pod of about 500 dolphins that ran with us for quite some time. They jumped and played all around the boat. It was awesome.

This tour was amazing, definitely a huge if not the biggest highlight of my daughter and I's trip to California. We were very lucky to be able to see common dolphins, a sea lion, a sword fish and most magnificent of all, a blue whale!! Captain Nick was very accomodating for all of his passengers on board. He made the trip very comfortable and fun! He made it comfortable for those that needed an unexpected pee break in the middle of the ocean!! Definitely would recommend this tour and hope to do it again!

Can I give this trip more than 5 stars? Captain Nick certainly deserves it. This trip was amazing, once in a lifetime and a dream come true. We arrived early at the dock because we were unsure what the LA traffic would be like and Nick's neighbour called down to us to wait on the dock for him. Nick arrived shortly after to prep the boat and we were off. He warned us there was a chance we wouldn't see any whales as there hadn't been any sightings for a while. The big thing about this trip compared to others is that we were the only ones on the boat and that Nick's boat is very fast so he can go places the larger boats can't. He's also an expert and really knows his stuff and friendly with the other boats so they can work together if the see anything. We thought we were lucky to see a single dolphin on its own not long out to sea but shortly after Nick saw a blue whale, he was just as excited as us to see it. We spent time following the whale at a respectful distance, it even went under another boat. Nick offered us the option to go and see the dolphins of stay with the whale, we chose to look for the dolphins. We were not disappointed as we saw a group of around 20 bottlenose dolphins and a smaller group of around 12 Risso's dolphins. Some of them came up really close to the boat. We headed back to port and made a quick stop to see the California sea lions. We cannot recommend this trip enough, more than worth the money even if we hadn't seen the blue whale. If we're ever back we will certainly book again.
