Minimum age is 8 years old and minimum weight is 70 lbs (32 kg)
Swimsuits and shorts work best. Secure shoes with a heel-strap are required (tennis shoes, water shoes, sport sandals with a heel-strap). Bare feet and flip-flops are not allowed. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and a towel

In compliance with updated Tennessee guidelines, we are frequently sanitizing our gear and have marked floor guides so you can keep social distance within our retail building. Please bring a face mask for the bus shuttle. A ziplock bag will keep it dry during your river trip.

First rafting experience for the family & I feel the safety/explanations were excellent. Our guide Marcus gave us all the tips & what we needed to know on the river. He was also very personable sharing stories / jokes. There were 9 in our group (youngest 10 yo). We all walked away with a great time & experience. Thank you!! P.S. The only suggestion was the gear itself. The life jackets & helmets smelled terrible. I know you are turning over groups, but post COVID it’s expected to have clean or sanitized gear.

Logan was an awesome guide. So much fun for our family of 5, with kids ages 10, 12, and 15. Logan had an awesome sense of humor and made the experience memorable and fun. Felt super safe. First class experience! Book with confidence!

We took our rafting trip on Saturday, July 16 and were in the 11:00 groups. (The earlier in the day you can book the better) All I can say is we had an amazing time! We had 8 people with ages ranging from 9 to 75 and the Upper Pigeon River was great for everyone. We had to split into 2 boats due to the number of people we had so we had 2 guides, Frazier and TJ. Frazier was on our boat and was great. Very entertaining and very knowledgeable about the river and everything around it. From what my family on the other boat has said TJ was equally as great. During the calmer waters they would let us get close to each other and splash which was a lot of fun. At no time did we feel our 9 year old, or any of us for that matter, were in any type of danger with the water. Again, it was a wonderful trip and I would recommend SMO to anyone! Hoping to come back and do it again next year!
