This was an enjoyable April experience. Clear blue skies and temperatures in the 80's greeted us so we meandered through the parking lot to the Korean War flag area and then to look at the Hughie and on to the Alabama. We spent more than 2 hours walking through the multiple decks plus we toured the big guns too. At first it was a bit confusing but when you start at the low numbers and go to the big numbers the ending point is where you started. The air conditioners kept this whole escapade comfortable. From there we went to the sub and on to aircraft display. I saw many aircraft types I used to work on and mentally went through the Yankee Station times and beautiful water colors of the seas. We left very glad we came to see this great memorial.

The best Naval vessel tour available anywhere! Guests are given much more access to Alabama than on other ship museum tours. Well worth the time and money. The other attractions are also excellent. Large display of airplanes as well as helicopters and USS Drum (submarine).

I have been going to the battleship since I was a child. I have always enjoyed roaming on the battleship and the drum. They recently updated the exhibits and the hanger exhibits. I also took my uncle recently and he had a blast it was like he was a kid again. I highly recommend this attraction if you are in the area. the memorials are a sobering reminder of those who sacrificed so much for us. Beware it will be hot during the summer there is only fans on the ship and they don't help the heat!
