This week we are in Las Vegas and as a result of comprehensive online research we booked two half day tours with Pink Jeep Tours. The first tour was to Red Rock Canyon just 45 minutes from our hotel, the wonderful Bellagio on the Strip. We were picked up precisely on time at the lower level tour lobby by our driver Tom Shey in a super luxurious ā€œpink jeepā€. There were just two other passengers on our tour - the vehicle sits 9 in three rows of pilot seats arranged 2 on one side of the aisle and one on the other side. As soon as we left the hotel, and on our way to the Red Canyon, Tom gave us a most informative narration on the various neighbourhoods we were passing through. First stops the canyon was the attractive visitor where we spent 20 minutes enjoying the exhibits of local flora and fauna along with geological examples of the content of the rock formations ere were going to see during our drive along a 13 mile one way scenic drive through the canyon. It was apparent early on that Tom was a knowledgable guide with a comprehensive botanical and geological understanding of the various locations we visited en route. Unfortunately, the unseasonal weather - mild and cloudy along with infrequent but unwelcome rain showers -meant we were unable to enjoy the trip to its maximum potential. I shall be writing a separate review on our amazing trip the yesterday to the Valley of Fire, 70 miles outside Vegas this time with another Pink Jeep superb guide, John Greenhalgh.

The tour of the Valley of Fire was an excellent adventure. Our tour guide was so very knowledgeable. She knew the names of the rock formations and their approximate ages. She also knew about the plants and animals in the area. This tour was fun and informative. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

This is a must do trip, if you are in the Las Vegas area. The valley is gorgeous!! Our tour guide, Jerry, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time to make sure that he showed us all of the highlights of the park. He was eager to help us capture our memories and get the best pictures possible. I highly recommend this excursion!
