The staff on the train and in the station were all helpful and caring. The train left on time and the scenery was spectacular. It was an outstanding experience!

Great way to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery in the Fall via the Verde Valley Railroad. Fall colors just starting to appear, comfortable riding in an outside open railcar and learning about the history of this area. This trip is a must for anyone who enjoys train rides. Staff was friendly, food and drinks plentiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad. I am not sure if I am reviewing this in the correct category. We took the first class level ride from Clarkdale through Verde Canyon. This included champagne and a buffet of chicken wings and ribs, some fruit, raw veggies and brownies. You can sit and watch the beautiful scenery roll by, or step out on open air cars and someone is there to point out the highlights and different fun rock formations. Really beautiful. We saw pretty golden yellow fall foliage. Short ride through a dark tunnel. I am not a fan of heavy drinkers and for the most part people behaved. Enjoyed the various “train songs” played along the way. The train does pick up speed somewhat on the way back, which made for a more rough ride, especially on the outdoor benches, but other than that it was comfortable. For first class we sat in our group of four in oversized upholstered chairs around a small table. The waitress was nice. She collects credit cards to keep a running tab. I opted for a light on the liquor iced coffee. There are soft drinks and smoothies available as well if you are not into the alcoholic beverages, which was my case. All in all, a really fun way to see the canyon.
