Wind your way through a red rock paradise, with tracks that hug the curves of the Verde River. Every season offers a different reason to ride! Astonishing views of a wild and vibrant frontier, historic trestles, bridges and a 7000-foot tunnel are just a few of the highlights tucked into unusual rock formations, red rock pinnacles and towering crimson cliffs. Majestic bald eagles and hawks float effortlessly on the breeze above Javelina, wild burros, jackrabbits and many other Canyon creatures, peacefully coexisting with this heritage railroad for more than 100 years.

This is a fantastic trip! Would recommend it highly. Great experience from beginning to end -- reservations, check-in, accommodations, food -- and the staff are AWESOME. Cute museum on site and there's signage that gives you plenty of info about the railroad and area. Also, a great gift shop. Trip is narrated for when you are inside the cars, and the tour staff tell plenty of stories when in the outside cars and let you know about the best photo ops. A wonderful, relaxing way to see some of the most gorgeous scenery in the high desert. The fall colors are beautiful, but wiill definitely go again during another season! GREAT JOB. Five Stars!

We had a great time on this trip - and have 1000's of pictures to prove it! :) We booked 1st class and that it was - snacks, wings and water - with additional "drinks" available to purchase. You can stay inside the train car and marvel at the scenery OR you can go outside into an open air car and marvel too. We HIGHLY recommend this adventure to anyone. Note of thanks to Grace and Tish - we enjoyed our time with you!

An enjoyable afternoon travelling through this canyon with some fascinating rock formations, good river views and the occasional animal in sight. Staff looked after us well and were very good in pointing things out and explaining on the outward trip. If the weather allows, most of the time is likely to be spent in the viewing carriages which are open sided - some seating but the best views are when standing. It is a long trip. If the weather had been bad, I suspect it would have felt like a very long trip. Booked first class as that was only ticket available on the day we had available and not sure we got great value from the extra cost - only one of our party drank champagne and the food was OK but not overly exciting. Overall, a great trip to do but be prepared for the length.
