Wind your way through a red rock paradise, with tracks that hug the curves of the Verde River. Every season offers a different reason to ride! Astonishing views of a wild and vibrant frontier, historic trestles, bridges and a 7000-foot tunnel are just a few of the highlights tucked into unusual rock formations, red rock pinnacles and towering crimson cliffs. Majestic bald eagles and hawks float effortlessly on the breeze above Javelina, wild burros, jackrabbits and many other Canyon creatures, peacefully coexisting with this heritage railroad for more than 100 years.

Went with family on this railroad adventure and had a thoroughly fun time. We upgraded our coach tickets to first class for more comfortable seating and were not disappointed. They provided a welcome/send-off glass of either champagne or cider, a bowl of chips for the table, and a light buffet of vegetables and dip, egg rolls, chicken wings, fresh fruits, and chocolate chip cookies (which went too fast - get yours quickly!).The ride was about 3 1/2 hours and no worries about annoying cell phone calls because cell coverage ends as soon as you leave the depot! There's brief coverage when the engine is switched in Parkersville and then drops off until you reach the depot again. This provides a nice quiet and enjoyable ride.Highly recommend for both locals and tourists.

My wife and I took a trip on the recommendation of friends. They were right, a relaxing experience on the old railway. Drinks and a light snack included in the VIP cars. The knowledge of the workers of the history and area made the trip fun. Highly recommend it if your looking for a day trip for 1 or the entire family. Thanks Jennifer and Don.

One of the best tourist excursion trains I have been on. Four hours in length and the option to sit indoors with air conditioning or on an open railroad car for 360 views (with some shade under a tarp-like roof. We were on the Tucson car and the open car behind it. Our outdoor guide regaled us with many stories and a lot of history.
