We decided to do this trip while holidaying in Sedona and were having a great time in the Cottonwood first class carriage when the train came to a Halt halfway. We were surprised and disappointed when we were informed their was train trouble and another engine was on it’s way to pull us back to the start. Well we thought all part of the adventure and continued to socialise with two other couples sitting opposite At the start of the ride we were given some champers and chips to toast the ride . A bit later some nice nibbles were put out for us to help ourselves, also fruit and choc cookies. There was a bar to buy drinks and we also had our own open air viewing car which was great for taking photos through the interesting scenic country side, saw some great rock formations and we were also following a little river which was nice . We had two hostess’s with us who were friendly and informative. We also had the chance to buy a book on board about the train and journey, we bought one, it will be a nice momento of the trip. The hostess said this was only the second time the train has ever broken down in 14 years. When we got back to the station and unloaded we were offered a full refund which was very decent of the organisation. This is a well run train and station, I take my hat of to them and hope they continue for many more generations . We loved it, give it a go

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We are very proud of our staff and how they handle ANY situation that gets thrown at them. It was unfortunate that our engines, which are generally bullet-proof, had difficulty that day. We hope you will be back in our area and able to ride all the way to Perkinsville with us some day.

We all thought this trip was fantastic. The scenery is spectacular, the ride is very relaxing and our narrator for the trip was full of interesting information. He told us all about the local history of the area, pointed out ancient native American ruins and interesting rock formations. My husband and I went with my elderly parents. The railroad staff was very accommodating of my mother's limited mobility. The first class cars are very comfortable and the entire staff made sure our experience was fun and memorable. I would highly recommend this.

This cool train takes you about 18 miles round trip through the scenic Verde Canyon. Beautiful scenery and you even get to learn some local history as well. I would suggest booking either the Caboose for a private group of going 1st Class. Our 4 person group went 1st Class which isn't that much more than Coach Class. It is well worth it. There is more room in 1st Class and they gave us two nice couches to lounge on during the trip. Complimentary appetizers are also included in this level. This consisted of chicken wings, fresh fruits and vegetables, and cookies. There is also a cash bar. Complimentary chips and a glass of champagne is also included. You also get an open air car that you can walk out onto and enjoy the views as well. The staff are very knowledgeable about the area.
