We made reservations for 4 people a month in advance, when we got there we went out to the train they told us to go to and that car was full. We must have stood out there for 25 mins while they scrambled around trying o find somewhere to put us. They would tell us to go to another car and we would walk all the way down there and the people would say there was no room. So about 30 mins later they finally got us on a train however we ended up crashing someones birthday party because they booked the entire car for their Celebration, so not only was it awkward it was unfair to the other people. I might give it another shot but maybe not.

We do apologize for any confusion you experienced during the boarding process. We have been doing renovations and seating reassignments since the beginning of January and this, while no excuse intended, may be why this happened. We would welcome you to give us another change. If you could reach out to us and acknowledge this message we would be happy to host you for a return trip.

My husband enjoyed this, but if we had it to do over again, I think we would skip it. First of all, my husband is a total RR buff. He loves trains and even does the modeling. We got first class seats and were glad we did. The seats were comfortable. There was some useful narration, although we would have preferred to have it quiet a little more instead of music and bar tender comments. The little snack/lunch was satisfactory although we were at the end of the line and the wings were pretty much gone. Service was friendly and attentive. A whole family was just behind us coughing, sniffing, snorting, and obviously too ill to be in a confined space with other passengers. We both caught their creeping crud which wiped out a week of our vacation. The scenery was not as pretty as we had thought, but then we have been on some pretty spectacular train rides. The drive down the mountain in the dark back to Scottsdale was quite grueling. I am not sure it was worth it in the long run.

We planned this trip with about 15 of our friends, couples and singles. It was fun for all. The hostess on the car we were on was fun and friendly and also our bartender, but also informative. The car was clean and comfortable, with big fluffy pillows. The drinks were tasty. It was a rainy day but with the covered car we were able to see key areas of the ride. The food was not anything to write home about, but the trip was more about friends and the company.

Thank you so much. Being able to bring friends and family together in our Canyon always makes us smile. We will do the driving, the drink making and the clean-up. We always welcome constructive comments and ideas about any aspect of our service though. If you would be interested in elaborating on the food, we are all ears. Feel free to write to us at [email protected] as this is what helps us be better.
