This is absolute the BEST way to experience the Road to Hana! No worries about navigating the drive, all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the day. Having a private driver and the flexibility to really make the day what you want makes for a wonderful experience. Our guide Koby totally customized our day to focus on the stops that we were the most interested in, allowing us as much/little time in each location as we wanted. He knew spots off the beaten path that we would have never found otherwise. Hiking, swimming in waterfalls, botanical gardens, bamboo forest, rainbow eucalyptus, cultural locations, beaches, and food… the day on this tour has it all. An absolute must. Koby was a blast to hang out with and made sure we had the absolute best experience possible.

First thing when you told everyone that you are going to Maui, everyone would tell you number one thing to do on the lists is Road to Hana. We are a party of three, exhausted from Honolulu, we do not think joining the van with the others would work best for us. Our mood and energy are kinda shift all the time so we do need some program that be more flexible with us. I looked up online a few days before we flew to Maui and I found John. As soon as I booked this private tour online, John called and discussed our plan immediately. This tour is 8 hours total with lunch+ water/soft drinks included. I told him what we wanted to see and I am vegan. John modified the plan to meet our needs. We met up at Safeway and grabbed breakfast in Paia. I had the best fern salad from the store. Road to Hana was one of a kind experience. You need an expertise to take you up there. It is a long and dangerous route if you have never driven up to the mountains. The road is very narrow, deep sharp turn, not easy to drive. John gave us a very smooth ride and fill in with details along the ride. We spent time at the black sand beach Wai’anapanapa and got lucky got enough to see monk seal taking a nap. We went to secret red sand beach and Koki beach. Stopping by a lot of spots for photo. John has a lot of knowledge, well rounded and very thoughtful. I had a very delicious vegan pizza in the middle of nowhere and this is very impressive. His car is very clean and spacious. We had a good nap, resting, after hiking and swimming on the way back. 10 out of 10 , or 5 out of 5 stars, Highly recommended!

From UK so was advised against driving the road to Hana due to the winding road. So glad we booked this trips as I got to enjoy the views rather then focusing on driving. Alika was fantastic guide picked us up at the meet point in lovely spacious car that had drinks, snacks and towels ready for us to use. He made sure to cater the trip to our needs I love water so made sure to go for swim in water falls and beach, my mum has difficulty walking showed her farmers market and food trucks plus parked close to where we wanted to go. We bought banana bread from stall Alika recommended and it was delicious. Definitely recommend the trip Perfect if you want to choose your own itinerary and Alika passes on his knowledge of the Hawaiian history.
