LOTS of interesting displays in this 3 floor museum. Very well organized and things are explained well. I loved the saddles - there was a whole display of them, plus several more scattered around in various places. The building was originally an orphanage, so learned about that too. The huge hurricane in 1900 destroyed so much of Galveston and this building survived with some damage. Definitely worth the senior admission price of $14 each.

Be sure to check the hours. We we sold tickets for January 1 and the museum was closed. Our tickets were honored the next day.

This place was amazing! We were told that Mr. Bryan is the owner of 90% of the contents of this place!!! Mind-blowing after seeing everything that was here. History from early pre-explorer days - current. Could spend hours just looking through this place, in fact...we did.
