Show time is 40 min prior to departure time
Accurate weights are important. if accurate weights are not given you may be forced to purchase another seat or step down from the tour. There will be no refund given for issues of inaccurate weights resulting in a safety issue.

What To Expect

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Travelers will take of from Hilo Airport where they will fly directly to the volcanoes national park. Along the way they will see orchid farms and lush native forest that are in large part only found on big island. The volcanoes national park gives breathtaking views of lava flows both old and new.

We had a fantastic time with our helicopter pilot, flying over the caldera of the volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. She told us about the ongoing eruption and flew us over the crater where we could see lava glowing and smoke rising. We also flew over nearby forests and rivers and saw some waterfalls. It was my first flight in a helicopter and I enjoyed it thoroughly. We booked through Viator as it was cheaper than through the cruise line. After we got back to the airport we went to the zoo before going back no to the ship. It was a great day.

The ground crew was awesome however the pilot (Jim) was fair at best. We flew over several things that looked interesting but when we asked a question he seemed put off by our questions. Our ride was supposed to be 55 minutes but we landed after 53 minutes. I know it's only 2 minutes but when you spend over $1000 for something most would expect the full amount of time paid for!

Please know that quality of tour is very important to us, but actual flight time is approximate. |We hope you enjoyed the all window seating for your family. Sometimes the Pilot is unable to answer all questions.As mentioned in the safety brief, safety is the pilots priority. Pilots must Pilot first and tour guide second :-) There are times when our pilots must navigate weather, other aircraft and comply with air traffic control. We saw a lot of clouds. They should have cancelled the trip knowing the lack of visibility. We never got to Volcano Park.

Aloha Cynthia, I am truly sorry to hear that you are displeased with the tour. We are dealing with Mother Nature and are only able to show what is safely available for each flight hour. If it is known ahead of departure that certain areas may not be available, we offer what is known as a passengers choice. What areas are safely available are described and you are given the choice to go or cancel.
