My group hiked on a cool, February (2019) day. With the wind it was a bit chilly so we needed our warm jackets (I even wore my gloves), and due to recent rain we wore shoes that could get muddy. Scenery was beautiful, even with the burned areas which were very interesting to see and put the fire in perspective. Tour guide was super sweet! She answered all our questions. I would have enjoyed a longer hike (but I like to hike). Hiking included trails through vineyards, gravel roads, paths and meadows. I also would have liked our guide to educate us more on how vineyards work, what is done, etc. And to give more details about the wines we tried (how they are made). We tasted 3 wines, part way through the hike, at a location that had tables and restrooms. The tasting part of the routine needed to be adjusted, they said, due to one of the buildings being closed from fire damage last fall. But I enjoyed the stop, location, etc. No food is offered during the tasting so either bring your own or be prepared to buy from the limited selection (of cheese) if you want. Party included 18-52 year olds and we all enjoyed!

I Booked a Hike in the morning for my girlfriends birthday. As luck would have it, the rest of the hike group didn’t show and we got our own private hike! The Scenery was gorgeous! Even post-fire, the greenery was already beginning to once again show its beauty. The hike itself wasn’t difficult and the grounds are beautiful and expansive. We Pet and fed animals (with expert help from our great guide) and the wines chocolate and cheese were delicious! The star of the morning, though, was our hiking guide Kurt. He was charismatic, funny, and very knowledgable. He helped us to take pictures and gave us an experience that my girlfriend LOVED. ASK FOR HIM BY NAME EVERY TIME and thank me later.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Malibu Wine Hike! Not only did we learn about the property, wines, how the wines are made, the history of Malibu farms/hikes/winery, but we got to spend time with the animals as well! While all of that was fantastic, the best part about it (besides being with people you love and seeing the gorgeous land and feeding animals) was our guide, Kurt!! He was PHENOMENAL! He knows so much about the property, as if it was his own. He took pictures of all of us, doing crazy things, and took the time to answer all our weird questions. I know there is a TON of bad press about what happened with the fires, but go and see for yourself how amazing this place is!! AND OF COURSE MEET STANLEY, the most lovable, beautiful creature!!! THANK YOU MALIBU WINES AND KURT FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!
