Booked 1 hour surf lesson for a 3 person group (12 y.o. +) including video & photos. Great experience! We were a group of 1 adult and 2 teenagers. Paolo focused on basics so we could control the board and stand easily. First, on shore, we practiced 4 easy steps to stand on the board. When we entered the water he quickly taught us how to control the board - turning right and left, moving forward and backward and stopping. This was our 2nd time as a family taking surf lessons on Oahu. First time was 4 years ago with a different provider. Glad we found Kahu Surf School this time - learning board control was much appreciated and very important. Such a simple thing but it allows you to quickly return and get in position after catching waves and riding in. Lessons are convenient for those staying near the Duke statue. Booking on-line was easy. Received immediate confirmations and easy-to-complete electronic waivers. Email reminder received the day before. Went to the meeting spot 10 minutes before the lesson time as requested and received the call within minutes that our instructor was ready for our lesson and already set up by the water. Equipment was in great condition and video / picture quality from the Go Pro is excellent. Better than photography from shore that is offered by other instructors. Received the video and photos within 4 days of the lesson. Felt confident enough standing after this 1 hour lesson that rented boards daily on our own to surf throughout the week.

Hired for family - Paulo trainer was not interested in helping learn basics, was not patient from get go. Basically he said - when we go out there don't look to me for help.

Not flexible with scheduling due to medical reasons. Refused rescheduling or refund. Not accommodating.
