Our guide Brian was a great "you can do this, just be careful" team leader with lots of stories (don't believe them all!) I'm 60 years old and not in the best shape but I'm not sore from the kayaking even though we had to paddle fairly hard in the wind on the way back. Be warned: you will be hiking through mud that will ruin regular shoes, and you will cross the river multiple times. The hike was strenuous enough that I couldn't really watch the scenery, as I was concentrating too hard on keeping up while not slipping in the mud or tripping over roots. A couple of times you have to climb over rocks. I had considered renting a kayak and doing this on our own but if we did I'm fairly sure I would have been too intimidated to complete the hike. Secret Falls is just spectacular and totally worth the hike. Be sure to check prices directly with Duke's website - it was $20 cheaper through them.

This adventure makes you feel like you have accomplished and seen a lot. A great half day activity for young and old alike. Enjoy propelling your kayak up a reasonably peaceful stream and then hike a trail along the river to a magnificent waterfall.

We were invited to do this adventure with friends. This type of excursion has been on my bucket list, and I am happy we did it! Our guide, Rob, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We werenā€™t expecting to have to cross so many streams, one of which was waist deep. One person in our group didnā€™t wear the best sandals for it, even though they had straps and were made to get wet. It is also really muddy. We had fun though! Would recommend for peeps who donā€™t mind getting wet, dirty and having to paddle hard in the wind. The falls are beautiful!
