Old City Cemetery

Old City Cemetery in Galveston is over 200 years old and is said to be one of the most unnerving sites in Texas. In that time, the cemetery has become the resting place for a menagerie of souls who bring a touch of mischief, mystique and the macabre to the island’s haunted history. You will meet “THE Lady In Black” who will uncover the mysteries at the heart of Texas’ more unsettling stories.

My photos won’t load but there is a picture with a lady in a long black gown in the background behind the mausoleum that didn’t get raised. Really eerie!

This was a great tour filled with a lot of interesting stories and history. Our guide took us through a couple of Galveston's cemeteries pointing out interesting headstones and mausoleums. We had plenty of time to take pictures and she ended the tour with suggestions on other haunted spots to check out on the island.

This was just a wonderful moment all around! The Lady In Black was so knowledgeable, respectful and a phenomenal orator of not only the stories past of some of the people buried there, but details and meanings of symbols on tombstones and obelisks. I highly recommend this tour whether you believe in spirits, are interested in history, or are just looking for a different type of experience. You won't be disappointed!
