Walking Tour Along the San Antonio Riverwalk And Around Downtown

Overview
From the first step of your guided adventure, I will share fascinating stories about the history, culture, architecture, and personalities of San Antonio, including the back story of the Riverwalk, a hotel that was towed through the city streets, another that had the rooms lifted up and stacked on top of each other, and I'll share what happened during the siege and battle of the Alamo in 1836. There's the Tower of the Americas, San Fernando Cathedral, our Lovelock Bridge, the most haunted hotel in San Antonio, the quaint Arneson River Theater, and Marriage Island, where over 300 couples tie the knot annually. Take your photo on the famous Selina Bridge. Hear how Johnny Cash, Rudolph Valentino, Carol Burnett, Phil Collins, Babe Ruth, Davy Crockett, and Queen Elizabeth II are all connected to the city. I'll gladly answer your questions, leaving you with many memorable stories to share...PLUS...it's a great way to get in your "steps" Remember...every step forward is a step back in time !

Stewart was a very knowledgeable and fun guide. He gave us a wealth of information at each site that was visited. I'm sur even San Antonians aren't aware of the many things we learned on our almost 4 hr. tour. It was the best.

Stewart was an excellent tour guide. His explanations of the history and construction of the Riverwalk and Alamo areas was so informative. The pace was quite leisurely with frequent stops for Stewart’s stories and descriptions of what we were seeing. I have been on many walking tours overseas and here in the States and this tour was reasonably priced and a must for first time visitors to the area. I would also encourage people who may have just gone ā€œdown to the Riverwalk area beforeā€ to take this tour for all the background information. It just makes what you are seeing more special. Like a dummy, I left my phone in the Menger Hotel restroom during our tour. Stewart quickly took me back to the Menger Hotel and I was able to find my phone. This detour added about 5 extra minutes to our tour, but he was so kind about it. The three hours went tour went very quickly.

Penny...well, we got some extra "steps" in retrieving your phone. I'm so glad we got it back and you can enjoy the photos we took on the tour. It was a pleasure to meet you, Bob and Finn as we strolled downtown, and I enjoyed telling you all of those "forgotten" stories. Hope to see you back here again soon !
