The Walking Tour of The Freedom Trail plus Beacon Hill to Copley Square and Back Back was well worth the time and money. I highly recommend this tour to get an overall great take of Boston and the rich history of where the United States all began just before the Revolutionary War. The tour begins at the intersection of State and Congress just across from the Royal Governor's building making it the oldest public building in the United States. My tour guide was Allen. Allen was born and raised in Boston and he had a vast knowledge of the city, the architecture and the rich history of Boston. Along the journey, the most memorable and most surprising part of the walking tour happened at Granary Burial Ground where Allen showed us the grave of Mother Goose. I had no idea that Mary Goose was buried in Boston, let alone, the same graveyard as Paul Revere. As we made our way along the Freedom Trail, we came to the Boston Commons and Public Gardens. Allen explained how the top of Beacon Hill was taken off and used to expand the size of the city as well as the Back Bay and how the streets were sold off to self-fund the development project. It was really great to hear how the Back Bay came to exist and to see all of the beautiful townhomes none of which I could afford. As the tour was wrapping up, we came to the ending point of where the Boston Marathon ends and we learned about the tragic event that unfolded 8 years prior and saw the memorial of the bombing of the marathon. Allen was also able to recommend some great places to shop and to eat as well. Thanks for recommending the Atlantic Fresh Catch Restaurant.

I booked this tour with 13 year old son and 11 year daughter. Because of Covid, my daughter’s 5th grade Freedom Trail trip became virtual. She loved it! My son had done something similar 2 years ago with his school, but felt our guide was much better. We were very happy with our experience.
