Walking Tour in George Washington's Alexandria

Overview
On this unique tour, we follow Washington's remarkable life and legacy through his hometown of Alexandria, Virginia. On this tour, you will get an extremely knowledgeable George Washington expert that will answer all of your Washington questions and talk about many of the most important moments of Washington's distinguished career as a surveyor, commander-in-chief, farmer, President, and private citizen.

We will also stop historic locations to include:
- Wise's Tavern
- Duvall's Tavern
- George Washington's Townhomes (both of them!)
- The Fairfax House
- Dr. Craik's Home
- Henry "Light Horse Harry" Lee Home

On this tour, we will walk to each location. However, we will not be going inside them.

Alexandria Farmers Market (Old Town Farmer's Market)
We will see where Washington brought his products from Mount Vernon to America's oldest farmer's market! This is an outdoor location and we will not be inside.

Carlyle House
Discover George Washington's role in the famous Braddock Campaign! We will talk about Washington's early military service. *We will not be going inside the Carlyle House

Gadsby's Tavern Museum
Ready to see where George Washington celebrated his birthday party? Right here in Alexandria at Gadsby's famous tavern. * We will not be going inside Gadsby's Tavern

Alexandria's Christ Church
Washington worshipped here! Depending on the quality of the sermon, he may have slept here too... *We may be able to go inside Christ Church Wed- Sun if it is open. Mon and Tue is closed.
