I was traveling with my 14 and 11 year old and they were "museumed" out...I thought taking a bike ride would be a different way to see the major sites and much more interesting. The ride is extremely easy, all flat ground and you stop frequently. The tour took 3 hours which goes by fairly fast. Our guide, Andy, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and monuments. My only complaint is we did feel rushed once we had time to actually go up / close to the monuments and take pictures. We were only given 10 minutes at some spots. The operator provides bottle water and a snack but the water is warm from the beginning and the snacks were stale and not a variety. Would I recommend? Yes, all in all the experience is unique and you are able to cover a lot of ground in 3 hours and learn some fun facts along the way. Maybe the operator will read the review and alter the time to provide at least 15 minutes to view the landmarks!
This tour was perfect!!! Great way to see the monuments and learn. The guide was very good we hardly recommended.
Washington is a bike friendly city.
We rented the bikes for two days the first day we when with a guide and he was very helpful and informative. The second day my husband and I when on our own which was nice because it allowed us to go at our own pace.
