This is a small group experience, with each electric cart limited to a max of 7 people. Whilst we do our best to seat groups together, we aren’t able to guarantee this and at times, groups may be asked to sit on separate carts.
This tour runs year-round and will proceed rain or shine unless such weather constitutes a dangerous situation. The final decision on cancelling a tour will occur at least 1 hour prior to departure and all possible guests will be contacted.
Carts accommodate most types of infant seats and we encourage parents to bring their own. We can provide an infant seat, as long as a guest calls us at least 48 hours before the tour and informs us of the age and weight of the infant.
Wheelchairs can be accommodated, but we need to know in advance.
The itinerary and its order of stops are subject to change at any time. Monuments visited may change due to local road or monument closure which are beyond our control. Most travelers can participate
All tours follow the latest local health authority advice, including mask usage and social distancing. Intrepid Urban Adventures has received the World Travel and Tourism Council’s Safe Travels stamp, which recognizes companies that have adopted health and hygiene global standardized protocols.

What To Expect

Tidal Basin

Move through the major monument areas, marveling at the dramatic effect of the floodlights on the stately architecture. Admire the Jefferson Memorial and Martin Luther King Memorial, bathed in indirect light from the Tidal Basin.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial

Take in the FDR Memorial with its cascading waterfalls and sculptures depicting President Roosevelt’s four terms.

Washington Monument

See the illuminated Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. Then visit the WWI and WWII Memorials, the Korean War Veterans Memorial

Vietnam Veterans Memorial

And, finally, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

White House

Continue past Washington DC’s most famous address: the White House. Keep your camera ready to test out your night photography skills as you stop at the sites.

Capitol Hill

Continue on towards Capitol Hill to be astounded by the Capitol Building. End your tour on a high note by asking your guide for some recommendations for the rest of your stay in the city. Your eco-friendly, open-air electric cart allows you to enjoy fresh air and great views as you tour the city. Your guide also points out festivals, exhibits, demonstrations or special events that may be occurring in this lively city. After a 2-hour tour, you'll return to the Smithsonian complex where your tour ends.

Amazing night tour! We enjoyed observing the monuments illuminated by the various nighttime lights, and seeing the additional holiday decorations around the White House. Our tour guide was phenomenal! He was very well educated about our tour, and with answering our questions! He provided countless details about the history of the region, each of the observed monuments, the surrounding museums, and included recommendations for dining and weekend activities. The tour stopped a few times so that we could get out and take some great pictures of key locations. We did not feel rushed at any point, nor was the tour too long. There’s a restroom break if needed at the Lincoln memorial stop. I highly recommend taking this tour at the start of your DC trip, as we were thrilled to learn about museums/activities that we may have otherwise overlooked. Our trip was the first weekend in December. That being said, dress warmly. Seriously. The tour was kind enough to have blankets provided, but don’t forget to bring a hat and maybe some gloves, or little hand warmers. Overall, amazing tour! Minimal crowds at each spot. Highly recommended!! Well with it!
