My wife and I signed up for a semi-private waterfall tour. I was worried it would be canceled as we were the only people signed up. No. Paul took just the two of us out. It was awesome. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable about the trees, plants and history of the area. He showed us plants and rock formations we would never have found on our own. Yes, there really is a humpback whale rock! Great conversationalist! My wife is a photographer and likes to spend a few extra minutes taking photos. Paul made it clear from the beginning that we could take as long as we wanted. We never felt rushed. If I come back to Asheville with my kids, I would do this tour again and try to schedule with Paul.

We loved hiking with Abby. She showed us all the popular falls, and even a hidden one. The hikes were easy and enjoyable

My wife and I had an amazing time on the tour with Paul as our tour guide on the waterfall excursion! If you like to hike and see some natural beauty, this is the place to go! I had signed up for the Waterfalls and Blue Ridge Parkway Tour in which was not that difficult in hiking trail. In total, we may have hiked a total of ~3+ miles and it was not that difficult and my wife and I are inexperienced hikers. The hardest part was the second waterfall that went up in elevation slightly. We had went the first week in February. Paul had said that winter is usually their slow-season because of the cold. Because of the time that we had booked the tour, my wife and I were the only people on the tour; so we had basically a private tour. The best part of the tour was our guide, Paul! He was so informative and very personable. He knew so much of the history of Pisgah National Forest. He was very helpful to by bringing hiking poles for us which came so much in handy. NOTE: I wouldn't expect to have your guide bring you hiking poles since there could me more people that they may not have enough for everyone. Since we were the only ones on the tour, he was happy to be our "personal" photographer for different part of the hike/tour. He made sure we were ok every step of the way whether it was driving to the different hiking trails, making sure of our well-being during the hike, or even if we wanted to do a little more than the basic parts of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Asheville especially if the other tour guides are anything like Paul.

WOW-Paul will truly love seeing this thoughtful review about your experience in Pisgah with him! It makes our day to know that Asheville Hiking Tours was able to treat you and your wife to a lovely day of waterfalls, storytelling, and fun information about the area! We aim to provide a memorable experience for our guests and glad we fulfilled this for you. Also, we appreciate the feedback about the tour for future guests looking to book with us. It is incredibly helpful to get your insight about the difficulty of the hikes as well as the information shared. Thank you again from Asheville Hiking Tours. See you soon!
