What To Expect

Johnson Square

We will learn about the beginning of Georgia and tour the original squares. Discuss the Colonial way of life churches, monuments and markers in this area as we journey into a timeline walk of the Historic District. Then our tour proceeds down Bull Street. The tour is one miles of walking and includes stops at Civil War homes, Cemetery, Theaters and famous movie locations.

As luck would have it, we were the only two on the tour, so we got Michelle all to ourselves. Our tour was more like having a friend show you around town! Except Michelle was incredibly knowledgeable of Savannah history, and current events. We spent a week in Savannah and Charleston, and went on multiple tours in each location. This was, by far, the best 90 minutes we spent on the entire trip. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

We actually booked this tour via Groupon rather than Viator but I’m sure it’s the same thing. A few booking problems cos we weren’t willing to book over the phone and we couldn’t book our Groupon deal online. Michelle was a very good tour guide looking after her group and making sure everybody could hear her. Her tour was very interesting in that it combined historical facts with economic data of the area and movie scenes. Being a big Forrest Gump I loved the latter. There is no doubt that going on this tour will enhance your visit to Savannah

Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept the interest of the group. We heard a lot of stories from various time periods, Colonial Era, Revolutionary War, Plantation Era, Civil War, Reconstruction, movie locations, etc. It was a well rounded tour and covered a lot of the historic district.
