What To Expect

Johnson Square

We will learn about the beginning of Georgia and tour the original squares. Discuss the Colonial way of life churches, monuments and markers in this area as we journey into a timeline walk of the Historic District. Then our tour proceeds down Bull Street. The tour is one miles of walking and includes stops at Civil War homes, Cemetery, Theaters and famous movie locations.

When I was originally looking for a tour of Savannah, I stumbled upon this one and didn’t think anything of it. The tickets were cheaper than the other tours so I decided why not. On the phone, Michelle gave precise instructions on the meeting location, time, and she even gave use tips of things to bring/wear because of the walking. We showed up, met with her. She was really engaging and detailed a lot of facts about the area. When we started the tour, she kept us engaged, she walked at a pace where we could keep up, she made sure everyone in the group could hear her, and she bonded with my kids about what the kids their age would do in Savannah all those years ago. The tour ended fairly quickly, although, we had walked for over an hour. And to be frank, I didn’t mind the length of the tour, I was invested in the history and the trivia she incorporated into the tour. Michelle also told us about a place to grab a bite, not just to eat, but the one that would have a less wait time and good quality service (she was right). She was very personable. My kids love her! Great tour!

Michelle our tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable. She was extremely personable and did not rush us or the tour an answered many questions we had. We love savanna even more!

Our guide (sorry I can’t remember her name but maybe Stephanie??) was incredible, she took her time and we didn’t feel rushed. She even went over about 15 minutes. Fortunately we were the only two in her group so we had one one attention. She was the sweetest lady and was very knowledgeable about everything we saw. I would definitely recommend the Welcome to Savannah Walking Tour!! We did it the first day and if helped to initially get acclimated to the beautiful city of Savannah.
