Overview

Maui Mountain Activities offers horseback rides that take you up into the West Maui Mountains to view waterfalls (seasonal) from a distance, then down to the coastline to ride alongside the Pacific Ocean. Experience the tranquility of Maui's native rainforests and the beauty of its waters. There is a run spot where you can run your horse, if you want (weather permitting), and your guides will take photos of you with your camera along the way. Tour through the petting zoo and experience up close the many animals, which may include mini horses, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and sheep. This is a 2 hour tour. Soft drinks are provided and complimentary.

ACCURATE body weights are mandatory. If you exceed the body weight given to us by 15 pounds, we will try to see if there is a horse that can accommodate you. If we do not have a horse to accommodate you, you will be unable to ride and will not be refunded.
All Maui County rules and regulations are followed. No masks required.

The road to get there is HORRIBLE. It’s full of mud and holes. Not very safe or good for a car. Due to the rain and slippery conditions we chose to take the cancellation they offered. They were not able to go up the mountains. Just down near the beach. They did offer a full refund but not a partial one for just going to the beach end of the tour. I felt bummed until I saw the condition and misery in the eyes of the horses. They looked just miserable and it broke my heart. This was first thing in the morning and for them to look that bad is just so sad.

The ride actually went all the way up the mountain to see the waterfalls and down to the ocean. I'm sorry but the horses do NOT have "misery" in their eyes. They just got back from grazing on 500 acres and eating guava and Lilikoi. We have 32 horses and only 10-12 go out a day (once a day) and they rotate. So a horse goes on a ride a couple times a week which is an AMAZING life for a horse. You must not have much horse knowledge

The staff were amazingly nice. I was personally nervous as a first time rider but enjoyed the ride overall. You do have to ride with caution though but all the horses were well behaved.
