It was few years since we last did a dolphin watch so we decided to try a whale watch this time. Went on the 6/20 trip with wife, son, & daughter. Captain reported that whales were spotted jumping out of water be ferry captains in morning. Headed for area of sighting but no whales could be found. The captain surely tried his hardest to find us some. The boat was packed with 2 bus loads of seniors so he did his best to find us some "Moby Dick's". He even went into overtime trying. Just when we started to head back we came upon numerous pods of dolphins. There were too many to count and many babies could be seen with the adults. It was really cool and the kids loved it. Even though no whales were seen I didn't hear one complaint. Would certainly do it again.

Went out on the Spirit of Cape May for the 10:00 dolphin/whale watch this morning. Although there weren't many of us on this watch the Captain and crew could not have been better. Unfortunately, I don't remember the Captain's name but his narration and information made the trip well worthwhile. Yes, we did see dolphins, which was awesome. We did not see any whales, but didn't really expect to. That would have been a nice surprise. Go, you'll enjoy it.

We took the 2-hr morning dolphin cruise. We got a great view of the Cape May shore, but sadly didn't see any dolphins, which the crew said was due to the slightly choppy water following a storm system that passed the night before. As promised, they stamped our tickets and said we could come back another time, even allowing us to take their 3-hr afternoon trip. Being on vacation with flexibility in our schedule, we took them up on their kind offer the next afternoon and were rewarded with loads of dolphins (at least 2 pods with ~30 dolphins in each group). Though we weren't able to spot a whale that day (and not for lack of trying), we had a memorable experience, a comfortable ride and just enjoyed the view on both days. We would recommend them to any friends visiting the area or sail with Cape May Whale Watcher the next time we visit Cape May.
