We had a fantastic trip on the ā€˜Sprit of Cape Mayā€™. We did the ā€œBig Tripā€ Whale and Dolphin Watch with our two children (7 year old and 6 year old). We all had a great time and the children especially loved seeing so many Dolphins. It was amazing to see two Humpback Whales so close up and we will never forget it. Captain Stewart was very informative and we enjoyed his commentary on the wildlife and the history of Cape May. We will certainly be back the next time we are in New Jersey.

Went Thurs, Sept 1st on the morning dolphin watch...went south around the cape first, and found a big pod of dolphins a little past the sunken ship. We got pretty close, but not close enough to see them through the grate floor of the prow or for them to run with the bow wave in front (which we've seen on previous cruises). Then we ended up abandoning the dolphins for....a whale! Other boats radioed the position, and you could see a group of boats up towards the northern inlet and out to sea a bit. We raced up there and observed for a good 20-25 minutes...the (lone) humpback surfaced about every minute or 2...no tail flip or really good breaching but it was fantastic anyway. It was very lucky as the captain said they are usually farther out and this one seemed to be about a mile offshore. As far as the overall experience, the commentary throughout the cruise is very good and they emphasize good eco-lessons for the kids.

The tour was very cool. My teenage nieces and I saw many dolphins and were lucky enough to see two humpback whales. Captain Stuart (I believe his name was) was very knowledgeable about the dolphins, whales and cape may itself. I appreciated that he mentioned Rick O'Barry and the need to keep these beautiful animals in the ocean and not in aquariums. Boat is very clean and love that there are lounge chairs on deck. Will be returning again soon. :)
