Very informative and pleasant trip out to sea near Cape May. Whales were scare today, but dolphins gave us a good show. Boat is comfortable and fast. Captain/guide gave us a lot of details about the salt water marshes, birds, dolphins and whales.

We had a wonderful experience with Cape May Whale Watcher. The dolphin-whale tour was nicely organized and well run -- much better than Iā€™ve found on other charter-type operations. Yes, we saw a whale -- along with what seemed to be more than 100 dolphins at one point. The whale was spotted late in the trip and I have to give the tour extra credit for staying out on the water an hour longer than planned so we could trail the whale and enjoy multiple sightings of it. Narration during the trip was great too -- just enough to be nicely informative but not overbearing. The only advice Iā€™d offer is to anyone planning to take young kids on this tour. This isnā€™t an amusement ride and itā€™s not Sea World. You will be out on the water for at least three hours. Some of the younger kids on our trip were bored out of their skulls after about an hour. Younger kids might do better with the shorter dolphin tours. Dolphins, of course, are easier for younger kids to spot as well. But for older kids and adults this is a great experience. The captain and crew really seemed to enjoy their work and respect the marine life they helped us see.

Complete waste of a vacation day, if you expect to watch whale. If you want to watch dolphins alone, it is o.k. But do not buy the tickets with expectations to see whales. They have no way of locating whales other than using binoculars trying to locate them in the ocean. Oops did I say Atlantic Ocean ? They take you to an inlet, and I do not think, you can ever see whale inside an inlet. They do not guarantee anything. According to them, there is a 65% chance of seeing whale, but what I hear is it is less than 25%. Do yourself a favor, go to Boston, and take a trip there. They use spotter planes to locate whales, and guarantees whale watching. If you want to see whales in Cape May, then the chances are very low, as the owner blamed the no whale sighting on God, at the end of the trip.
