Although we are the original whale-watching company in Juneau (operating since 1994), we are still small and family-owned and operated! We want you to feel like part of the family, and we pride ourselves on prioritizing local hires in order to give back to our community and give you the best possible tour experience. We want our guides to love Juneau as much as you do!

Our fleet consists of only mammal-friendly jet boats, and the small size and intimate setting will make you feel right at home with the whales.

We pride ourselves on our quick transfers between vehicles! We don't want you to wait any longer than you absolutely have to!

What To Expect

Juneau

Go in search of whales with a naturalist guide on a day trip from Juneau. Hop onboard a boat and get binoculars to spot other wildlife such as sea lions, bald eagles, and black bears. Depart from downtown Juneau on a bus driven by a local tour guide through a scenic route to Auke Bay, where you board a comfortable jet boat. Be led by a captain and naturalist on an unforgettable search for whales in Favorite Channel, Stephens Passage, Lynn Canal, or Saginaw Channel. Binoculars are provided so you can see the humpbacks, killer whales, Dall’s porpoises, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, bald eagles, black bears, and towering mountains better. With the growing abundance of whales in the area and their comfort with small boats, you are bound to see many. This tour includes transfers between downtown and Auke Bay and two hours on the water. Included in the price of the tour are onboard refreshments, including bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, and a small snack.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

We were to meet transfer at 2:30 - and at 3:30 we were still unsure if trip was going out. Unfortunately, we had a very windy, rainy day for our cruise. Most everything had been cancelled- tram was closed... The guy asked us to return in an hour and they hoped we might be able to go out. By then- it was too close for our cruise departure and we opted to not return. I understand weather situations, however a refund is due as we did not receive what we paid for. I have written to Dolphin Jet Boat Tours and tried to contact them via phone without any luck. I paid $1282.50 for 11 tickets!

Ah, yes. At 2:30 we asked if you wanted to be rebooked on a 3:30 tour with another company. Some people said yes, some said no. We rebooked you, and then when you didn't show up we had to pay for your tickets, as you were a no show. I have refunded your money. The tour left at 3:30, and returned before 7:00, an hour and a half before your all aboard.

Wow! I have been biking in Canadian Rockies and Nova Scotia. Hiking in Himalayas to 14,000 feet (flew to 8,000)Backpacking in Tetons 14,000 feet, round the world in fancy hotels but whale watching in Juneau was the most amazing!! I hope to return with husband and even grandchildren someday. This tour group was such fun! Go while you can! Seize the day!!

The boat was nice clean and roomy. Had inside seating with large windows, that could open. Also had Front and back outdoor decks. Staff was nice, polite and knowledgeable. We did see several Whales. I'd say it was worth it!!!
