This was an awesome whale watching tour! We went in mid August and were able to see a number of different species including harbor porpoise, seals, sea lions, Orca, and even a humpback. The crew at San Juan Safaris was very knowledgable and had many interesting facts to share about the animals. The crew was also much more respectful to the wildlife than some of the other boats which I really appreciated. For example, we were following a pod of Orcas and there were multiple boats out trying to catch a glimpse. We stayed a respectable distance the entire time which could not be said for some of the other boats. Anyway, if you are looking for an exciting adventure or would like to see some whales, take a ride with these folk, you may just see some pretty neat things!

They say my parents and I went out for our whale watch, the Salish Sea was very foggy! I was nervous that we wouldn't be able to find the whales, but Captain Gabe put us in the right spot. We were lucky enough to witness members of the resident L-pod! The naturalist were so fun and informative. After watching the whales, they showed us what members we had seen and how they were identified. I used to whale watch for work in Hawaii, so I'm not easily impressed... but this was nothing short of amazing. San Juan Safaris will always have my business!

My daughter and I took the whale watching tour with naturalist, Rachel, and boat caotain, Mike. We had a fantastic time and saw Minke whales, a juvenile humpback, and transient orcas. We also saw a bald eagle pair. While waiting for whales to surface between breaths, Rachel kept us engaged with lots of interesting facts about the species we were seeing. We have done whale watching tours in the past in other olaces, but this trip with Rachel and Mike surpassed them all. I highly recommend San Juan Safaris in Friday Harbor for your whale watching tour!
