We took a sunset whale watching cruise with Naturalist Sarah and Captain Mike. It was top-notch from all angles. Captain Mike worked hard to put us in position to clearly see Orcas from all three resident pods: J, K, and L. Naturalist Sarah gave us timely and clear information regarding what we were seeing and why. On our way back to port, Captain Mike received word of a humpback in the area and he diverted and took us north so we could see this tremendous creature as well. Sarah also clearly taught us about other wildlife (deer, sheep, sea lions, etc.) we encountered on the voyage. One-hundred percent satisfaction from start to finish.

My husband and I "upgraded" our whale watching tour to the faster & more maneuverable boat named "Kestrel". I'm SO glad we did! We were fitted with "Mustang Suits" for warmth and safety, and were given a safety lesson before boarding the vessel. Captain Brian and First Mate Alex made sure everyone was comfortable for the entire trip. There were 22 people on board. We saw tons and tons of Orca whales, and it was such a treat! We saw seals, sea lions, and many different types of sea-birds too. Brian and Alex answered many wildlife related questions along the way, and their enthusiasm really showed through. This adventure was the highlight of our weekend getaway!

I try to do whale watching where ever I go (that there are whales) and generally like smaller operations where the patrons are not constantly getting in each others way. Their boat is one of the larger boats I saw in the harbor, but it was very comfortable and though there were a fair amount of people on the boat, it is big enough that people can spread out without jostling each other constantly. The captain was cordial and competent and the two naturalists one our trip were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. My daughter had gone out with them a few weeks before, saw no orcas but saw a rare fin whale. She went with us on this trip and we had a good hour and more with the resident K pod.
