I took PacWhalesā€™ Ultimate Whale Watch and Sunset Dinner tours with my 93 year old mother who was in a wheelchair. The staff on both tours could not have possibly been more helpful with her. They all helped her anywhere she needed to go. I canā€™t adequately express how much I appreciated the help and wonderful attitude. They were all so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I highly recommend PacWhale for any whale watching tours.

We werenā€™t prepared for the sun out on the ocean and assumed there may be a shady vantage point to watch the whales. My wife got a severe sunburn that has ruined the vacation as she canā€™t go outside to do the activities we planned. We saw whales for about a total of fifteen minutes during the thee hour trip which was spectacular. I donā€™t know if thatā€™s normal, or if other tours see more or less. The guide turned off her mic for a more intimate setting she said but I couldnā€™t hear a word she said after that. Some were close enough to ask questions but it was just a conversation on the other side of the boat. The food was not appealing so I asked if there was an alternative and was offered hummus on a bun. I turned it down and asked for water which may have offended her because she set the water up and turned around without saying another word as if I had been rude. I said thank you but she didnā€™t respond. Finally we were about to set sail and we were excited. Even though there were good gentle winds where we were the captain barely let the sail out to be moved by the winds. Instead the sail just kinda flopped there in the wind while the captain blasted old pirate songs and mellow 80s hits. I would have preferred the sound of the ocean and winds or at least to turn the music down a bit just in case everybody isnā€™t to it. Overall it was fun seeing whales up close but would choose a better outfitter next time.

Aloha and thank you for coming out with us whale watching. I'm sorry to hear that whale activity during your tour was not as plentiful or active as it has been all season, but you just never know from one tour to the next with nature sometimes. I also apologize for the poor service you experienced, so please feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected]. We always want our guests to have an enjoyable experience with us and do everything possible to make it right when that doesn't happen.

We could not have asked for a better tour. We got to see whales: breaching, mom and young being escorted by a male and fin flapping and tail slapping. At one point we got to see them swim towards then under the ship in the clear blue water. The grand finale was a pod of dolphins (20+) swam towards and next to the ship. The crew was fantastic. One member had a microphone and spoke about marine life along with fielding any questions. The captain spotted whale activity and steered the boat in that direction. There was also a mate that made sure we where hydrated with water and fruit drinks.
