Whiskey Tasting Experience in Nashville

Overview
Digging into the past didn’t turn up skeletons and scandals for brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson; more like sour mash and stills. After discovering their triple great grandfather was one of the most successful whiskey distillers in pre-prohibition America, the brothers vowed to revive the since-forgotten family business. If you’re into sunken ships and lost gold, a woman running a distillery before women could vote and the rebirth of a Nashville business after 100 years, you’ll be sucked into this story.
Sample gold medal award-winning Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey, the spirit based on the wheated mash bill recipe for Tennessee’s oldest whiskey and mellowed in a sugar maple charcoal bed. Taste the perfected blends of two, modern-day, straight bourbon whiskeys crafted by the Nelson Brothers, and finish your tasting with strong and sweet Louisa’s coffee caramel pecan liqueur.

5, Did a tour today. We went over every step in making a good whiskey. In the end we tasted Green brier Tennessee sour mash, nelson brothers' rye whiskey, reserved bourbon, and Madeira cask finished bourbon. The Tennessee whiskey is super mellow and easy to drink. Their rye is actually very approachable due to the higher corn content. The reserved bourbon was delicious and you can definitely pick up the Madeira notes from the cask. Overall great experience. Thank you for a wonderful tour.

Heather was awesome! She told us all about the lineage of the name and how they found it. It’s interesting when compared to other companies to see how they make their product and steps taken differently.

Fantastic tour! The history told to us by Jacob Nelson was bar none, the best historical viewpoint I’ve experienced on a whiskey tour. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the experience! 10/10 experience, highly recommended.
