Whiskey Walking Tour

Overview
Our cocktail tour! From the mill to the still, whiskey has been a cornerstone in Pittsburgh's history. Come downtown for our whiskey tour where you will discover how whiskey has fueled political, labor and social movements throughout the region. Begin and end your tour in style with a Prohibition cocktail at the Ritual House and an Old Fashioned at the Rebel Room. As we walk the streets of Downtown, along iconic architecture, you'll learn about the violent Whiskey Rebellion in Pittsburgh, hidden former (as well as existing!) speakeasies around the city, and how Prohibition affected the region.

**Please note: This is NOT a bar crawl but a whiskey history tour that includes two handcrafted cocktails. This event is 21+ only, no minors please.

My first time in the city and this was a great way to start off the day. The weather was slightly chilly, and there is nothing like starting a tour with shots of whiskey and a 'medicinal' version with peppermint tea and honey. Corrie was our guide and did a wonderful job on pointing out interesting tidbits of history and giving a sense of not just the history of whiskey in Pittsburgh but the city itself. Would recommend without hesitation!

We loved the Whiskey Walk with Corrie. She was so passionate about her fine city and was a great storyteller. Getting to see the speakeasy in the William Penn Hotel was so cool! Loved every minute.

My wife and I have done many walking tours over the years. We have visited New York, San Fransisco, Charleston SC, and many more walkable cities. All the tours done by Walk the burgh are the best. This time we did the whiskey tour that was recommended by Corrie on our last tour that we did of Oakland. The way that the history of Pittsburgh is intertwined with the history of spirits is amazing. At the end of the walk you end up at Wigel tasting room for a flight of tastings. You know when someone really loves their city by all the little digressions they have because there is so much back story about the subjects they talk about. I find all of walk the burgh's tours this way, intimate, informative, and just a damn good time.
