Interdune Boardwalk

The Interdune Boardwalk is coming up soon! If you’d like to get up-close and personal with the massive white dunes without getting sand in your toes, take a relaxed stroll on this elevated boardwalk. It’s ADA-accessible and a quick, half-mile round trip!

Alkali Flat Trail

We’re approaching the Alkali Flat Trail now, where our journey continues on foot. Make sure you’ve got plenty of water and sunscreen, since this hike takes about three hours.

Very interesting park. Sometimes you could swear you were looking at a field of snow. The biggest trail could have been a bit better marked or maybe we went thru it backwards. The boardwalk was closed which was something we wanted to see.

The biggest trail can be tricky, especially if taken in the opposite direction, but I hope you still enjoyed the unique scenery. White Sands National Park is well worth the visit. The park rangers are great. They also ensure everyone drives the posted speeds. We did witness a few cars being pulled over for speeding. Wonderful. Walking on the dunes was a great experience.
